Central Gardens residents have a long history of neighborhood gatherings. With our large porches and open yards, the design of Central Gardens is the ideal setting to interact and mingle with your neighbors. In addition, the best way to build a safer community is to know your neighbors and your surroundings. Central Gardens Association would like to support neighbors’ block parties with some bucks (cash)!

To qualify you must:

  • Be a resident of Central Gardens. You do not have to be a member of CGA to host a party, but we encourage you to become a member.

  • Register well in advance of your event.

  • Let us know how many neighbors you plan to invite.

  • One person on your block must serve as a block captain or contact person.

  • A CGA staff member, board member or committee member must be invited to attend  the event on behalf of CGA. We will provide CGA related materials for your guests. We will also take photos to share in our eNews.

Use of funds:

  • Funds are limited, so they are distributed on a first come, first served basis. CGA will give your block up to $100.

  • You cannot use Block Party Bucks for alcohol or equipment rental.

  • You may use funds for food, soft drinks and other supplies for your party. These include items such as table covers, paper goods, printed flyers or invitations.

  • You must turn in your receipts to CGA within one week after your event.

We encourage you to use the Block Party Toolkit available on our website (http://www.centralgardens.org/blockparty) as an excellent resource to plan your event. If you need assistance regarding a street closure, please email [email protected]

The Central Gardens Association wants to create opportunities to build community, build awareness of safety issues and build a sense of community among its residents. Above all, we want you to have fun and enjoy our beautiful neighborhood!
